Whether you are a front or back end programmer, we offer you the opportunity to be part of the ground floor team building the next Amazon-sized retail network backed by a deep and rich data warehouse. Either way you will work with leading edge technologies and solve intriguing business and database challenges that no one before us has taken on. We're building a new shopping channel personalized to each and every consumer and we have multiple international patents and patents pending on our proprietary technologies. We're looking for innovative professionals to help create solutions, not just do the next task on the list.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will be an Internet product veteran able to design and implement defect-free software of product quality that is both innovative and high performance. myShape developers must have a background in system development and the ability to write complex programs in mySQL, PHP, Java, or other relevant languages. You also will need experience as a lead developer/architect in at least one significant project. In addition, you must be comfortable with analysis and design, front-end/UI coding and integration, database scripting and manipulation, backend/server coding, and technical issue resolution. Fluency in Internet-based development tools and proficiency in modern software engineering concepts and technologies are preferred.

We are reaching out to millions of women to provide them with an effortless way to shop for apparel that fits and flattersTM. More About Your Role
If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure we're providing a complete picture, here are some details.
You will join a small but growing development peers including professionals who are tops in their fields. We are not married to any specific platform or technology, but focus on finding the right solution for any function. At the same time, the majority of our coding is in PHP 5 and Apache on a Linux platform, and we also do a fair amount of work in ASP.NET.
Depending on your background, you will focus on either front end or back end projects, although there is a great deal of interaction between the two. In fact, ours is a fluid environment, and you will work with different teams on diverse projects. At any given time you may have two to four projects of varying size and scope on your plate. The environment is collaborative (we adhere to the Scrum process), although we'll look to you to assume ownership of your piece of the puzzle.
In a nutshell, you will assist in the development of myShape's ShapeMatch, e-commerce, and business support systems. This will include developing intuitive, user-friendly interface, maintenance, and reporting systems, as well as improving and expanding the usability, level of automation, and capabilities of internal data gathering and management systems.

myShape started around a kitchen table in September 2004. Soon we had to add more chairs around the table, and CEO Louise Wannier's driveway couldn't fit any more cars. We're still around one table, but it's a big conference table in an office.
The idea germinated in response to a problem shared by women of all ages and sizes: finding clothes that both fit well and flatter our body shapes. We all deserve great clothing in wonderful, exquisite textiles and designs that celebrate our body shapes. The idea has transformed into myShape.com, an online retail store created for individuals. Each member can create a custom store, called myShop, where she'll find clothing matched to her measurements, her body shape, and her preferences.
With a unique vision, robust business model, and innovative proprietary technology, myShape is changing the metrics for retail online -- our members buy more, return less, and are more satisfied with their clothing purchases.
